The volume of trade exchange between the two countries during the year 2022 reached about 2.56 billion euros, compared to 1.69 million euros during the year.
Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samir, met with the Greek Ambassador to Cairo, Νikolaos Papageorgiou to discuss ways to enhance bilateral economic relations between the two countries and the possibilities of increasing the rates of intra-trade and joint investments between Egypt and Greece.
Trade minister stated that there was a 21% increase in the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Greece during 2022, noting that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries during the year 2022 reached about 2.56 billion euros, compared to 1.69 million euros during the year.
Samir affirmed that the Ministry is fully prepared to provide support to Greek companies operating in the Egyptian market and help overcome any challenges they face and facilitate investment procedures.
Greece comes in 11th place among European Union countries contributing to direct investment in Egypt, until the end of last April, amounting to $255 million spanning over 215 projects in the financial, industrial, service, construction, tourism, agricultural, communications and information technology fields.
Samir pointed out that Egypt has drawn up a list of 152 investment opportunities to manufacture production supplies that can be manufactured locally with the aim of deepening the national industry and providing the needs of the industrial sector.
