Egypt, Greece and Cyprus meet to discuss enhancing investments

Egyptian ministers Sameh Shoukry, and Mostafa Madbouly expressed their commitment to further cooperate with Greece and Cyprus in more domestic investments to boost our economy.

Egyptian ministers Sameh Shoukry, and Mostafa Madbouly expressed their commitment to further cooperate with Greece and Cyprus in more domestic investments to boost our economy.

This was in a meeting when Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with his counterparts, in New York, from Greece and Cyprus to discuss further cooperation, during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September the 22nd.  

The Cypriot President, Nikos Christodoulides, recently visited Egypt in April which led to the inauguration of the Joint Business Council between the two countries. They also reached an agreement concerning the importance of meeting again at the Joint Business Council between both countries.

In addition, during the assembly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Director of the Public Diplomacy Department, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid spoke on the strength of relations between them on political, economic, and cultural level. In contrast, Abu Zeid highlighted the shared support between the countries on a variety of regional and international issues.

The ministers also express their intention to further develop the relation on a bilateral or a multilateral dimension. They also stated their motivation to remain in close contact with Egypt for consultation on various issues.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid added that a big portion of the discussions were based on plans to have more investment and economic development in Egypt. Minister Shoukry expressed the necessity of this political cooperation to be cemented by projects that benefit both countries, as all three ministers emphasized on the urgency to complete the projects while avoiding setbacks.

Ahmed Abu Zeid added that the ministers spoke on how crucial it is to follow up on the outcomes of previous trilateral summits and convening during the 10th trilateral summit at the earliest opportunity.
