Egypt’s volume of food industry exports reached $2.635B |TradeMin

The minister pointed out that Egypt is a regional manufacturing hub for most companies operating in the food industry.

The volume of food industry exports increased by 10% reaching $2.635 billion during the first 7 months of 2023 up from $2.384B during the same period in 2022.  The minister of trade and industry, Ahmed Samir, announced in a roundtable discussion withfood industry companies.

The Trade Minister pointed out that the food sector contributes significantly to Egyptian exports.

During the meeting, Samir discussed with international companies specialized in the food industry, the possibility of increasing investments, exports, and boosting local manufacturing.

He pointed out that Egypt is a regional manufacturing hub for most companies operating in the food industry.

The minister also confirmed that the food industry sector is one of the most strategic productive sectors in the national economy, providing thousands of job opportunities catering to the needs of the domestic market.

Samir explained that the meeting reviewed the ministry's efforts to achieve the state's goals regarding the localization of the production supplies industry. As the ministry identified 152 investment opportunities in the industrial sector, including opportunities for production supplies in the food, pharmaceutical, engineering and chemical sectors.
