Building Materials Export Council announced that the total exports of sectors falling under the umbrella of the Building Materials, Thermal Insulation, Metal Industries, Construction, and Building Export Council reached a value of $3.234 billion during the period from January to May 2023.
This represents a 2% increase compared to the same period in 2022, which recorded exports valued at $3.183 billion.
The Export Council highlighted that pipe exports reached $7 million in the first five months of 2023, compared to $4 million, reflecting a significant increase of 65%.
Additionally, iron and steel exports recorded $943 million, showing a substantial growth of 46% compared to $647 million.
Furthermore, copper exports witnessed a rise, reaching $252 million, a 34% increase from $188 million. Cement exports from Egypt also experienced growth, reaching $386 million, a 33% increase from $286 million.
Egypt's building materials sector has been thriving in recent years, contributing significantly to the country's export growth.
The government's focus on infrastructure development and construction projects, both domestically and regionally, has fueled demand for Egyptian building materials.
The continuous growth of these sectors reflects Egypt's strong position in the global market, supported by its quality products and competitive pricing.
