Maait added that the Arab Trade Financing Program (ATFP) and the joint payment mechanism stimulate intra-trade between Arab countries
Egypt is keen on boosting cooperation with Arab economies to avoid future severe shocks, said Finance Minister Mohamed Maait during a meeting at the World Government Summit yesterday.
Maait added that the Arab Trade Financing Program (ATFP) and the joint payment mechanism stimulate intra-trade between Arab countries, contributing to increasing the volume of investments to support the Arab region in overcoming global challenges.
The FinMin’s comments came during his bilateral meeting with the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) Abdulrahman Bin Abdullah Al Hamidi, according to an official press release by the Finance Ministry.
The two sides stressed the importance of holding the Seventh Public Fiscal Forum in Arab countries.
The forum will represent a framework for promoting dialogue among Arab finance ministers and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Maait added, pointing out that it would contribute to the exchange of expertise on challenges facing financial policies in light of the current global economic developments.
AMF chairman, Al Hamidi, pledged to continue to support the Egyptian economy, which is moving at a steady pace towards achieving growth and has a great deal of flexibility in the face of internal and external shocks.
