Egypt’s manufacturing and extractive industries production index’s preliminary data showed that the industry grew by 6.56% on a month-on-month basis in June 2022, revealed new data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The climb, attributed to the growth of both the beverage and electrical appliances industries, saw June record a preliminary 119.38 compared to May’s final 113.27.

The index, which excludes crude oil and petroleum products, recorded an uptick in the beverage industry’s production by 29.56% in June to reach 474.07, boosted by the summer season.

CAPMAS noted that the manufacturing of electrical appliances reached 141.01, up by 15.54% in the same month.

The production of chemicals and chemical products recorded 99.41 during June 2022, a drop of 4.83% which was attributed to stock availability issues.
