German engineering is often perceived as rigid, focused only on its technical and powerful capabilities. However, German automobile manufacturer Opel’s launch of its latest Mokka model is anything but rigid and traditional.

Showered with sparks and fog to dramatic and theatrical beats, the Al-Mansour Automotive Group unveiled the Opel Mokka 2022 model as a display of its new bold brand persona.

Challenging the German auto industry, Opel launched its brand-new customer-centric mindset and exciting personality in conjunction with its Mokka 2022 launch. The revitalized branding integrates its German roots of exceptional engineering with a new bold and #LessNormal attitude.

Bringing a swift wind of excitement and energy to the brand, the new branding offers a sleek logo redesign for an even cleaner and bolder look. The new branding includes a more florescent yellow to display its emboldened and more energetic personality, taking inspiration from German’s progressive "cold to cool" modern German culture, while its new “Opel Next” font typeface’s clean lines make it more visually aesthetic for digital platforms.

Similarly, the Mokka boasts the new branding with its bright Matcha Green color and fresh face, a combination of pure design, a stunning interior and the latest high-tech powertrains. The model expresses Opel’s new progressive, bold, and unconventional approach, integrating German engineering that does not compromise with a sleeker, modern and vibrant design.

During the launch, Ankush Arora, CEO of Al-Mansour Automotive Group, stated that “As we enter a new era in the automobile industry, Al-Mansour Automotive, being the exclusive dealer of Opel, is introducing a mindset beyond conventional resources through the German brand, that has always been and will continue to be, exciting and approachable, and now will become even more bold and confident in its expression.”

Prior to the official launch and reveal, Opel’s marketing team encouraged consumer interest with several on-ground activations and vague billboards that displayed the car’s silhouette with its tag line “Less Normal.”
On-ground activations included Egypt’s first ever “vertical dance show” at Sheikh Zayed’s Park St., alongside Illusion booths at Park St. and the Drive by Waterway for cool photo-ops.

In line with their new emboldened and exciting persona, Opel collaborated with several celebrities and influencers fitting with the brand, including Amir ElMasry, Mahmoud Shoukry, LaylaGhaleb, Nourhanne Eissa, Cynthia Khalifa, Yaya ElSady in its #LessNormal ad, encouraging audiences to guess Opel’s upcoming reveal.

The Mokka sports several key features, elevated with the latest German technology with a more bold and youthful look. The car includes as advanced transmission controls, high-tech security and safety measures such as driver attention warning, 8 Airbags, Navigation through the Virtual Cluster, IntelliLux LED® Matrix Lights, Sport Paddle Shifters, 8 Speed Automatic Transmission, Wireless Charger and 12 Inch Virtual Cluster + 10 Inch Touch Screen and three driving modes (eco, normal and sport). It also includes voice recognition and keyless entry.

The Opel Mokka is available in the Egyptian market in two categories; the Elegance for EGP 389,990 and GSLine for EGP 429,990.
