The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) is looking to launch ship and marine services within the coming months, as well as projects within the green hydrogen industry which will coincide with the upcoming COP27 conference, explained Chairperson Yahia Zaki.

According to the chairperson, the zone is currently putting the final touches to activate these services and studying related offers, with ship catering and marine services already included in the SCZone’s 2020-2025 strategy.

Speaking during an event meant to support international trade in light of the current challenges, held on the sidelines of an Egyptian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Zaki pointed out that the zone is working on addressing around 15 industrial and logistic sectors, including petrochemical, railway carriage and green hydrogen industries.

Egypt has implemented various major national projects in the past 7 years that could secure several investment opportunities, Zaki pointed out. He also emphasized the zone as a promising investment destination that includes four industrial zones, six ports and the Suez Canal.

Connecting Asia and Europe, the Suez Canal is one of the most trafficked trade routes in the world, recording a whopping $6.3 billion in revenues in 2021, the highest in its history.
