Sept 19| EGX begins week with LE 8.7 billion loss

Market capitalization lost around LE 8.72 billion, recording LE 717.6 billion, compared to LE 726.32 billion in Thursday’s session

Kicking off the week in the red zone, the Egyptian exchange (EGX) lost around LE 8.72 billion of market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling.

EGX 30 inched down by 0.97 percent, or 107.11 points, to end at 10,889.65 points, with EGX 50 declining 2.86 percent, or 69.67 points, to end at 2,364.67 points.

EGX 70 fell dipped 3.59 percent, or 103.04 points, to close at 2,763.72 points, while EGX 100 decreased 2.92 percent, or 112.7 points, to close at 3,753.47 points.

Market capitalization lost around LE 8.72 billion, recording LE 717.6 billion, compared to LE 726.32 billion in Thursday’s session.

 The trading volume reached 337.04 million shares, traded through 48,929 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.2 billion.

Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 51.24 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 1.06 million, and LE 50.18 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 16.83 million, and LE 7.87 million, respectively, while foreign organizations were net sellers at LE 2.05 million.

Egyptian, and Arab organizations sold at LE 68.07 million, and LE 6.81 million, respectively, while foreign organizations bought at LE 52.24 million.

El Obour Real Estate Investment, Egyptian Iron & Steel, and Abou Kir Fertilizers were top gainers of the session at 5.21 percent, 4.86 percent and 3.98 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile AJWA for Food Industries company Egypt, The Arab Ceramic CO.- Ceramica Remas, and United Arab Shipping were top losers of the session by 9.48 percent, 8.75 percent,  and 8.72 percent, respectively.
