EGX ends mid-week with mixed performance against foreign and Arab selling

Tuesday’s trading saw 915.95 million shares exchanged with a turnover of EGP 4.24 billion

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended its mid-week session on a mixed note, with benchmark index EGX 30 down by 0.49% to close at 3,0871.10 points.

The Shariah index was up by 0.69% to reach 2,994.08 points.

EGX 70 and EGX 100 were barely in the green, climbing by 0.27% to 7,333.78 points and by 0.10% to 10,427.45 points, respectively.

Tuesday’s trading saw 915.95 million shares exchanged with a turnover of EGP 4.24 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at EGP 2.1118 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian traders as net buyers with EGP 705.71 million. Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 672.13 million and EGP 33.58 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Alexandria New Medical Center which saw an uptick of 19.96%, followed by Taaleem Management Services by 17.18%, and Egyptian Gulf Marseilia For Real Estate Investment by 14.66%.

The largest losses of the session were by Delta For Printing & Packaging which fell by 10.05%, Cairo Educational Services by 5.32%, and South Valley Cement by 4.87%.
