March 1. EGX continues red streak, loses LE1.45B in market cap

Market capitalization lost around LE 1.45 billion, recording LE 702.57 billion, compared to LE 704.02 billion in Sunday’s session

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) is continuing its red streak, as it closes the second day of the week in the negatives, marking a loss of LE 1.45 billion of market capitalization.

EGX 30 dropped down 0.03 percent, or 3.64 points, to end at 11,521.38 points, with EGX 50 declining 0.60 percent, or 14.05 points, to end at 2,330.41 points.

EGX 70 dipped 0.75 percent, or 17.62 points, to close at 2,316.26 points, while EGX 100 lessened 0.56 percent, or 18.78 points, to close at 3,351.11points.

Market capitalization lost around LE 1.45 billion, recording LE 702.57 billion, compared to LE 704.02 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 520.11 million shares, traded through 44,224 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.35 billion. 

Net sellers of the session were Arab individuals at LE 24.87 million, with Egyptian and Arab investors LE 18.75 million, and LE 10.69 million, respectively.

Net buyers of the session were foreign investors at LE 2459.95 million, with Egyptian and foreign individuals at LE 51.78 million, and LE 139,751, respectively. 

Arab and foreign organizations bought at LE 14.18 million, and LE 29.31 million, respectively, while Egyptian organization sold at LE 70.54 million.

Top gainers of the session were Delta Sugar up by 8.57 percent, The Arab Ceramic CO.- Ceramica Remas at 6.80 percent, and Reacap Financial Investments at 6.49 percent.

Top drops of the session were by Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment by 9.94 percent, Egyptian Arabian (cmar) Securities Brokerage EAC by 9.55 percent, and Glaxo Smith Kline by 7.60 percent.

On Sunday, EGX ended the session in red, EGX30 declined 0.80 percent, EGX 50 dipped 1.46 percent, EGX 70 dropped 2.12 percent, and EGX 100 decreased 1.60 percent.
