Feb 16. EGX closes in the green, adds LE1.17B to market cap

Trading volume reached 466.23 million shares, traded through 47,152 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.57 billion

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed in the green today, adding LE 1.17 billion to market capitalization.

EGX 30 edged up by 0.06 percent, or 7.28 points, to end at 11,534.05 points, with EGX 50 going up by 0.60 percent, or 14.33 points, to end at 2,412.69 points.

EGX 70 increased 0.65 percent, or 15.49 points, to close at 2,416.69 points, while EGX 100 climbed 0.63 percent, or 21.57 points, to close at 3,453.56 points.

Market capitalization gained around LE 1.17 million, recording LE 706.62 billion, compared to LE 705.45 billion in Monday’s session.

Trading volume reached 466.23 million shares, traded through 47,152 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.57 billion. 

Net buyers were foreign investors at LE 25.62 million, Arab individuals at LE 22.2 million, Arab investors at LE 16.42 million, and foreign individuals at LE 1.33 million.

Net sellers were Egyptian investors and individuals at LE 42.04 million and LE 14.85 million, respectively.

 Egyptian, and Arab organizations sold at LE 27.19 million, and LE 5.76 million, respectively, while foreign organization bought at LE 24.29 million.

El Kahera Housing, B Investments Holding, and Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool were top gainers of the session at 9.99 percent, 9.95 percent and 9.72 percent, respectively. 

Meanwhile, Nozha International Hospital, Glaxo Smith Kline, and The Arab Ceramic CO.- Ceramica Remas were top losers of the session by 6.28 percent, 6.16 percent, and 5.63 percent, respectively.

On Monday, EGX ended the session on mixed note, EGX30 hiked 0.17 percent, while EGX 50 dipped 0.79 percent, EGX 70 decreased 1.57 percent, and EGX 100 lessened 1.07 percent.
