Petroleum exports up 33.8% YoY and other oil & gas data: CAPMAS

Crude oil exports increased to $399 million during this year’s first quarter, compared to $325 million in the same period last year

Petroleum exports in the first quarter of 2021 increased by 33.8 percent year-on-year (YoY) to $1.82 billion, compared to $1.4 billion in Q1 2020, wrote Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Monday.

Petroleum Imports dropped 11.4 percent YoY in Q1 2021, reaching $1.9 billion from $2.12 billion in 2020.

Crude oil exports increased to $399 million during this year’s first quarter, compared to $325 million in the same period last year.

Natural gas exports were valued at $564 million, compared to $136 million in 2020.

Heavy fuel oil (Diesel/Mazut) exports saw a major climb, recording at $522 million, compared to $209 million last year.

Malta saw the largest increase in importing Egyptian petroleum products, with imports valued at $421 million, compared to $177 million in 2020.

India was second at a value of $272 million compared to $143 million in 2020, and Greece with a value of $226 million compared to $81 million.

At the end of the top 5 are China, which imported around $201 million dollars compared to $126 million last year, and Italy which imported Egyptian petroleum exports valued at $105 million compared to 63 million in 2020.

On the other side, countries that saw the most decline in importing the country’s petroleum products were Saudi Arabia whose imports fell to $720 million compared to $846 million in 2020, Kuwait at $290 million compared to $611 million, and Algeria at $12 million compared to 101 million in 2020.
