Egypt, Denmark trade volume reaches $292M during first 10 months of 2024

The total trade volume between Egypt and Denmark amounted to $292 million during the first ten months of 2024, compared to $240 million during the same period in 2023.

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has shown a significant increase in Egypt’s trade with Denmark during the first ten months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. The total trade volume between Egypt and Denmark amounted to $292 million during the first ten months of 2024, compared to $240 million during the same period in 2023.

Egyptian exports to Denmark reached $63 million between January and October 2024, compared to $45 million during the same period in 2023. Imports from Denmark also saw an increase, rising to $229 million in the same period of 2024, up from $195 million in 2023.

Key goods exported by Egypt to Denmark included electrical machinery and equipment, which accounted for $23 million, along with ready-made garments valued at $13 million. Exports also included food industry waste and animal feed worth $12 million, vegetables and fruits amounting to $8 million, and prepared vegetables and fruits valued at $5 million.

On the import side, Egypt’s main purchases from Denmark included pharmaceutical products worth $75 million and machinery and electrical appliances totaling $64 million. Other significant imports were glues and adhesives at $20 million, various food preparations valued at $12 million, and dairy products worth $11 million.

Danish investments in Egypt also grew during the 2022/2023 fiscal year, reaching $9.2 million compared to $6.3 million in 2021/2022. Remittances from Egyptians working in Denmark increased to $13.2 million in the 2022/2023 fiscal year, up from $11.4 million in the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, remittances from Danes working in Egypt decreased to $394,000 in 2022/2023 from $552,000 in the 2021/2022 fiscal year.
