The ministerial groups will be created for the tourism, economy, energy, and entrepreneurship sectors
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced the creation of 6 specialized ministerial groups to expedite the government's objectives in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives.
This was revealed during the first press conference after the new cabinet formation. The ministerial groups will be created for the tourism, economy, energy, and entrepreneurship sectors.
The new groups will bring together various ministries and be led by the Prime Minister or relevant ministers. The first two groups focus on industrial development and human development, respectively.
Additionally, Madbouly introduced a group dedicated to tourism development and an economic group, which is already operational and meets periodically under his leadership. Another group will concentrate on new and renewable energy and hydrogen projects.
The final group will promote entrepreneurship, a crucial area for the state, particularly for encouraging youth participation in the workforce.
To ensure the smooth operation of these groups, specialized advisors from the Cabinet will be appointed to provide regular follow-up and address any emerging obstacles.
During the press conference, Madbouly also announced that industrial development, addressing the power outage issue, and price controls are the top priorities on the new government's agenda. The cabinet will also work on attracting foreign direct investment and encourage the private sector’s role in the economy.
On Wednesday, the new Egyptian cabinet led by reappointed Madbouly was announced. The reshuffle brings new leadership to a wide range of ministries, focusing on tackling economic challenges and strengthening social programs.
The new cabinet reshuffle includes the re-introducing of the Ministry of Investment, the merger of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Transport, the Ministry of International Cooperation and Economic Planning, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration. During the conference, the prime minister stated that the merging of ministries aims to improve coordination, achieve integration, and work towards reducing deficits and foreign debt.
