Seasonal or irregular workers who have registered for financial aid will receive the final tranche of payments by the Committee to Support Non-Regular Workers on March 7.

The payments come from the presidential grant to irregular workers, one of the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to support non-regular workers.

The decision was made during a Committee meeting, headed by Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said.

The meeting took place with the participation of: Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan; Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine El Kabbaj; Head of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsy; Sherif Farouk, President of the Egyptian Postal Authority; and Osama El Gohary, Director of the Cabinet’s  Information and Decision Support Center.

Also present at the meeting were representatives from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), and the Administrative Control Authority (ACA).

The meeting aimed to follow up the procedures for disbursing the last tranche of the presidential grant for non-regular workers.

During the meeting, the results of data analysis on previous tranches' eligibility rules were discussed. This came in addition to the geographical distribution of beneficiaries, exchange rates from Egypt Post outlets and the Agricultural Bank of Egypt (ABE).

The meeting also reviewed the effectiveness of using electronic wallets on mobile phones.

It aims to disburse the last tranche of the grant in accordance with the rules that ensure that the money reaches its beneficiaries.

Moreover, coordination is taking place with all partner agencies and ministries to facilitate the disbursement from Egypt Post and ABE branches, as well as electronic wallets on mobile phones.

El-Said added that the date of exchange was chosen according to several aspects, the most important of which is coordination with exchange authorities. This would ensure no crowding takes place, and that the exchange is conducted in accordance with precautionary measures and other requirements to curb spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
