Dr. Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development has welcomed Eng. Hani Sonbol, CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation along with the delegation accompanying the Islamic Development Bank Group.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress of establishing Egypt's first Export Academy.
During the meeting, Dr. Hala El Said mentioned the partnership agreement between the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation, the Egyptian Foreign Trade Training Center, and the Egyptian Exporters Association (EXPO LINK) to implement the "Export Academy" project.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group in May.
El Said explained that the strategic objective of the "Export Academy" project is to enhance Egyptian exports, increase economic integration and regional trade between Arab and targeted African countries. Additionally, it aims to promote domestic trade efforts and create new job opportunities for commercial and industrial enterprises, thus contributing to economic growth.
She added that the Export Academy serves as a business platform in Egypt, the Arab world, and Africa, transferring information and expertise to create an efficient regional business environment.
The academy will enhance the export capacity and skills of a new generation of exporters and entrepreneurs, strengthen the export and import capabilities of commercial and industrial enterprises, and align them with market requirements. Moreover, it will connect entrepreneurs to global value chains by improving and developing human and technological capabilities.
Eng. Hani Sonbol stated that the Export Academy project represents a positive step towards supporting Egypt's economic development and, specifically, supporting the private sector and expanding opportunities for export to global markets.
The institution will continue to provide integrated trade solutions to support strategic sectors such as food, energy, women empowerment, and youth through the Assistance for Trade Initiative for Arab countries and the Bridges for Arab-African Trade program.
The establishment of Egypt's first Export Academy marks a significant milestone in the country's efforts to enhance its export capabilities and promote economic growth.
This initiative will empower Egyptian exporters with the necessary skills and knowledge to expand their presence in international markets. It will also foster economic integration and regional trade cooperation, strengthening Egypt's position as a regional trade hub.
